The Oyo State House of Assembly has confirmed eight member nominess of the State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) following the request of the executive governor of Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde.


The OYSIEC member nominees were asked to take a bow After the lawmakers inquire into their educational background and their plan of action for the commission.


While Some of the Lawmakers, including Mr Babajide Gabriel, Mr. Isiaka Kazeem and Mr Adeola Bamidele Commended the choice of governor Seyi Makinde on the nomination considering their pedigree, the assembly members charged them to replicate the electoral standard that brought in the present administration in state by conducting credible election.


Speaker of the house, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin expressed confidence that the conduct of local government elections in the state will further help to extend dividends of democracy to the people.


In an interview, chairman designate, Mr Isiaka Olagunju promised to engage all political parties in the state in an effort to regain peoples confidence on the electoral body.


Other members of the commission are Mr Adeniyi Afeez Babatunde, Alhaja Ganiyat Saka, Mr. Olanrewaju Emmanuel, Chief Kunle Agboola, Mr. Remi Ayoade, Mr. Sunday Falana and Mr. Adeojo Elias.
