Nigerian universities have been challenged to make research, innovation and new discoveries, especially in the area of disease control and management.
The Vice-Chancellor, Redeemer University, Ede, Professor Anthony Akinlo stated this in Ede while playing host to the management of Radio Nigeria Gold FM.
Professor Akinlo said Nigerian universities must remain focused and develop new ideals that would drive the nation to economic prosperity.
He said the institution’s African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infection Diseases had assisted the nation in the testing of infectious diseases, especially Coronavirus as well as positioning the ivory tower for academic excellence.
The vice-chancellor expressed the readiness of the university to partner with Radio Nigeria Gold FM in the area of publicity for the promotion of activities of the university.
In a remark, the General Manager, Gold FM, Ilesa, Mr Adedamola Tinubu lauded the institution for its giant stride in the promotion of academic excellence and quality research that could turn around the economic fortune of the nation.
Mr Tinubu assured the university that Radio Nigeria Gold FM would provide a platform for the projection of the institution activities.
He noted that Radio Nigeria as a flagship of broadcasting industry in the Nigeria would continue to promote professionalism.
