National Orientation Agency, NOA, Oyo State has called on residents of the state to complement efforts of government at averting flooding.

The NOA State Director, Mrs Dolapo Dosumu made the call in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Ibadan.

Mrs Dosumu said as the rains were getting heavier, there was the need for collaborative efforts by government and residents to ensure that the state was safe.

She called on residents to desist from dumping refuse indiscriminately, while urging the government to construct more drainage across the state.

The NOA director also called on Nigerians to accord all the country’s national symbols the respect they deserve as a sign of patriotism.

Mrs Dosumu emphasised the need for Nigerians to have positive change of attitude towards the country’s anthem, currency, flag, passport and other symbols to project the country’s image positively.

She appealed to Nigerians to stay safe, imbibe a healthy living, show love to one another and pray for the peace and unity of Nigeria.
