Corpse of Osun Monarch’s Missing Wife Found in River

The corpse of a 52-year-old health practitioner, Mrs Abosede Jegede has been evacuated from Eti-oni river, along Esa-Odo in Iwoye-Ijesa yesternight

Her corpse was in her Chevrolet jeep as at the time of evacuation.

Mrs Jegede, a wife of a traditional ruler, Oba Peter Atayero the Asereyun of Isereyun in Osun State, was declared missing two weeks ago after receiving a distress call of a pregnant woman in labour and that her attention was needed at Igbaye Maternity Centre, Ilesa, where she used to work.

According to the husband of the deceased, Oba Peter Atayero, his wife who left home around 4:55pm neither got to her place of work nor returned home until her corpse was discovered in the Eti-oni river yesterday by some swimmers

Speaking, the D.P.O., Ijesau-jesa division, Mr Taiwo Olugbemileke said police would unravel the mystery behind the woman’s death.
