No fewer than Thirty Arts Students of Al-Ameen comprehensive high school, Agbogangan, Oba Adeyemi Area in Oyo were on excursion to the broadcasting house of Radio Nigeria, Dugbe in Ibadan.

The students who were exposed to operations in the Reportorial unit, Control Room, Live and Recording Studios, News room, Library, and various broadcast gadgets also witnessed processes involved in news production and transmission to the general public.

Some of the students including Opeyemi Abdulazeez, Abdulsamod Ademola and Fatimoh Abdulwasiu while narrating their experiences said the excursion had not only motivated them to study harder but had broadened their horizon in broadcasting to explore.

In an interview, the head of Arts department of the school who led the students to Radio Nigeria, Mrs. Tosin Egbeniyi said the excursion was meant to create sense of worth in the students and have background knowledge on the career prospects in arts.

Mrs. Egbeniyi said the choice of Radio Nigeria for the excursion followed the exceptional professionalism and facilities at its disposal as a foremost broadcast institution in Nigeria.

Mrs. Egbeniyi who said parents should encourage their children in their chosen course also advised school administrators to take their students on excursion to expose them to many career opportunities.
