Abducted Farmer Found Dead After Family Paid 1.65m Ransom

A farmer, Mr Oluwole Agboola, who was abducted in Ibadan, late last year has been found dead.

A brother to the deceased, Mr Olakunle Agboola confirmed the development to newsmen.

It was learnt that the death of the farmer is coming after the family had allegedly paid the sum of one million, six hundred and fifty thousand naira as ransom for the release of their kinsman.

Mr Agboola was abducted in Ibadan, on Monday, December 28, 2020, inside his farm located at Abaodo area in Olukitibi Village in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State by six armed men dressed in military camouflage.

The remains of Wole Agboola, found inside the bush near Aba Odo yesterday evening, close to where he was abducted.

Efforts to get the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, CSP Olugbenga Fadeyi to speak on the incident was abortive as he did not pick up his calls.
