Oyo State governor,Engineer Seyi Makinde has assured the residents of the state that majority of the road projects started by this government would be commissioned this year.

He stated this at the Inter-faith service to usher in the new year 2021 at the Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan.

Governor Makinde listed the projects to include the 65km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin road, the 21km Airport-Ajia-New Ife Express road with a spur to Amuloko and the 12km Apete-Awotan-Akufo road.

While pledging his administration’s commitment to continuous prompt payment of salaries, Governor Makinde noted that about 9.3 billion naira has been expended on the payment of pensions and gratuities owed by the previous administrations.

He also said deserving civil servants would have the opportunity to get up to grade level 17 with a promise that the state would address a backlog of outstanding promotions from 2016 to 2020 this year.

Governor Makinde urged civil servants and political functionaries to re-dedicated themselves to the service of the state.

The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Ololade Agboola urged civil and public servants in the state not to engage in activities which could tarnish the image of the state maintaining that every infraction would not go unpunished.

Some of the civil servants in an interview with Radio Nigeria expressed readiness to support the present government in the state.

Prayers were offered for the progress and development of the state.
