Academic activities have commenced in private schools in Ondo State as students resumed for the first term in the 2021/ 2022 session.

Our correspondent who went round Akure, the Ondo state capital reports that both teachers and pupils were kitted with face shields and masks in compliance with the Covid-19 rules.

Canopies were also placed in strategic areas in some schools for parents to sit while observing social distance.

The story was however not the same in public schools visited as parents were seeing processing the admission of their children while others were busy clearing the school premises. 

Some school principals told Radio Nigeria that Principal’s test will be conducted for students on Tuesday.

On her part, the principal of CAC grammar school, Akure Mrs. Oluwapelumi Adetimehin explained that schools are being faced with the challenge of managing the population of students in line with the social distance rule as there would not be available classes for students.

Mrs. Adetimehin However urged parents to always play their own parts in adhering to Covid-19 protocols by providing hand sanitizers and nose masks for their pupils.

Meanwhile, parents today besieged commercial banks in Akure to make some payments which is part of admission process into Public Secondary Schools.

Entrance of Banks along Oyemekun and Adesida road were filled up in defiance to Covid-19 protocol as security locked them out to control the crowd.
