Ogun State Government has warned the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, and their operatives to stay away from all motor parks and garages in the state to avoid incurring the full wrath of the law.

In a statement  in Abeokuta, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile, said the warning became necessary in view of intelligence reports that the union was planning to resume collection of dues and revenues at motor parks against the existing decision of government banning the activities of the Union.

Alhaji Odusile said Security agencies had been directed to arrest and prosecute any operative of the NURTW or anyone that attempts to defy the decision of the government.

He explained that the present administration in the state was committed to maintaining  peace at the motor parks and would not allow anyone to undermine the prevailing peaceful environment.

It will be recalled that following crisis in the leadership of the NURTW that threatened security of lives and property in the state, the House of Assembly in June 2020 passed a resolution suspending the activities of the union in the State.
