Men of the Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command have arrested a kidnap syndicate, made up of members of the same family, terrorizing Shagamu and its environs.

 In a statement in Abeokuta, the Police spokesperson, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Ajogun had directed the Area Commander and all the DPO in Shagamu to fish out those behind the dastardly act within the shortest period. 

 In compliance with the directive, the DPO Shagamu Division, Mr Okiki Agunbiade and his men embarked on intelligence and technical based investigation, which led to the arrest of one Oweniwe Okpara from Delta State and three of his children including, Samson, Bright and Eze as well as one Christian Ishaha who accommodated them.

Mr. Oyeyemi, who explained that the suspects were arrested in Ajaka area of Shagamu for their roles in the kidnap of eight person, noted that three other members of the family including Godwin, Godspower and Mathew ran to Delta state with their operational car and arms where they were apprehended by the Delta State Police Command after carrying out another kidnapping there. 

 The Police spokesperson added that the Shagamu division located a camp at a forest in Ayepe-Ijebu the suspects used for their dastardly act and recovered three expended cartridges, cooking gas, utensils, women bags and twine.

 Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Ajogun, who expressed satisfaction with the investigation of the detectives, reiterated the command’s determination to provide adequate security for residents of Ogun State.
