A twenty million dollars integrated Waste Management Facility is to be established in Ogun West Senatorial District of the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun State Waste Management, OGWAMA, Mr Ola Oresanya announced this during the tour of project site on the outskirts of Ilobi Town along Atan-Ota/Sokoto Road in Yewa South Local Government.

Mr. Oresanya who noted that the step was part of the reform efforts of the present administration to convert waste to wealth said preliminary work on the project had commenced.

He explained that the facility would consist of a recycling unit and a sorting slab where plastics, paper and metals would be turned to new resource and wealth for the inhabitants of the district.

Mr Oresanya said the facility would also convert organic wastes to fertilizers for the use of the farmers thereby contributing to government’s efforts at making the state food sufficient .

He pointed out that the facility would provide hundreds of employment opportunities to youths and women in the Senatorial District especially those living in Ilobi and it’s environs and called on them to take ownership of the facility.
