The Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor has directed that an Accident Investigation Board be constituted to unravel the immediate and remote causes of the death of the Chief of Army staff, Lt. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru.

Attahiru died Friday evening in a air crash, along side 10 other.

He was on an official trip from Abuja to Kaduna.

A statement by the acting Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, said the unfortunate incident occurred after landing at the Kaduna International Airport due to inclement weather.

General Irabor expressed sadness over the death of the Chief of Army Staff, in company of his entourage, and urges all military personnel and their families to take heart and be condoled.
