Ogun State government has debunked the reported death of two secondary school students of the Baptist Boys High School, Oke-Saje, Abeokuta.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, debunked the rumoured deaths in Abeokuta after an inspection of the Baptist Boys High School, BBHS, and Ilugun High School, in the Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state.

Mrs. Soyombo noted that a student of BBHS, Kowi Adeyemi who was attacked last week, sustained injuries and is currently responding to treatment at the hospital.

She described the reportage of the deaths as false, noting that the government would no longer tolerate fake and unconfirmed news.

The special adviser to the governor cautioned students against unruly behaviour as the government has no tolerance for unruly character in its schools.

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye in a remark, advised students to be well-behaved, noting that students must have seventy-five percent attendance before they would be allowed to write the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination.

The Principal, of BBHS Senior School, Mr. Oluseyi Kusimo, described the report of the death of students by some media houses as fake and far from the truth.
