Ogun State Government has pledged its continued support for the delivery of effective implementation of reproductive healthcare programmes, particularly, the Family Planning intervention.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker made this known in Abeokuta during a workshop on the Development of Costed Implementation Plan Document, CIP 2021-2024
Dr. Coker pointed out that the document would serve as a guide for FP activities in the State, which she said would also be of benefit to the socio-economic development and growth of individuals, society and the nation. 
Contributing, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Tayo Lawal, underscored the importance of family planning to promote good health for mothers and economic safety for the family.
Also, the Programme Officer, Reproductive Health and Family Planning, Mrs Kosi Izundu said the objective of the workshop was to come up with a realistic costing plan for the State’s reproductive and sexual health programmes.
 The State Programme Coordinator and Technical Lead, The Challenge Initiative,  Mrs. Busola Oyeyemi explained that the document would enable the State to increase its Contraceptive Prevalence Rate from 32.1 percent to 46 percent by the year 2024.
