Abductors Of APC Chieftain’s Wife Apprehended In Ibadan
Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko has paraded the notorious kidnapper who abducted the wife of All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Mrs. Juliet Salawu alongside other suspected criminals.
While parading the suspects, Mrs Onadeko said the Command achieved the success through purposeful driven intelligence and gallant officers.
She said the command had waged war against any form of criminality in the state through sophisticated mechanism and other ammunitions and warned criminally minded people to leave Oyo state or face the consequences.
“The Commissioner noted that the success was indeed a testimony of the hard work, determination, relentless service and renewed sense of purpose from courageous and gallant operatives in the face off against crime and criminality”
“Mrs Onadeko therefore craved the indulgence of the people of Oyo State to be unrelenting efforts by giving out useful information which would be most vital in nipping crime in the bud.”
The suspected kidnapper, Balaji Shittu who allegedly kidnapped the wife of APC chieftain, Mrs Juliet Salawu said they did it to raise some money.
Shittu said they abducted her and collected over three million naira as ransome from her relatives before releasing her after eight days.
The victim, Mrs Juliet Salawu said she went through a lot of trauma in the hands of the kidnappers before she was released.
Other suspected criminals who were apprehended for various offences ranging from kidnapping, car theft, armed robbery and other related crime admitted that they committed the crime and pleaded for leniency.
Exhibits found with the suspects included two motorcycles, three toyota cars, local charms, mobile phones, jewelry, axe, machete and other criminal weapons.
