The in-house unions of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan has called for the adequate security around Amuludun F.M, Moniya, Ibadan to prevent further attacks on the station’s facilities.
In a statement issued by Anthonia Akanji on behalf of the unions, it described the attacks as affront on the media.
The unions explained that the attack is wicked and a rape on media freedom.
The statement called on the Nigeria police to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book with a view to preventing re-occurrence.
The union empathized with the members whose cars were destroyed, promising to work with the management to ensure their repair.
It also called on the Oyo State Government to further rejig its security apparatus to address incessant attacks on residents by hoodlums.
