Girls need to observe all necessary hygienic practice, especially during their menstrual period. 

Two Speakers gave the advice at a one day programme tagged ” The girl matters, A day out with girls”  organized by wife of  the Oyo State governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde 

The speakers explained that good hygienic practice would  prevent  infections getting into girls urinary tract.

One of the speakers, the  permanent secretary, ministry of education and science Mrs Aminat Atere  maintained that poor menstrual hygiene could lead to health challenges.

Another speaker, the permanent secretary ministry of women affairs and social inclusion, Mrs Christiana Abioye said attaining menstrual age should not be a license to sexual activities for the girls and total abstinence was the best.

While answering questions from the students secretary to Oyo State Government,Mrs Olubanwo Adeosun and the head of service, Mrs ololade Agboola called on the girls to understand their body make up in order to take the right step at the right time.

The convener of the programme Mrs Tamunominini makinde, encouraged the girls to make their education a priority and not engage in sexual activities which could  jeopardise their future ambitions.

Highlights of the program was the presentation of sanitary pads and some other girls items to the 200 students drawn from various schools across Oyo state.
