A policeman, Sergeant Adamu Garba, attached to the Mobile Police Unit in Osun State has been dismissed from the force.

This is consequent upon his orderly room trial and conviction for killing an Okada rider, Saheed Olabomi in Osogbo on the 27th of last month.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Osun State Command, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola made this known in a statement in Osogbo.

Mrs. Opalola stated that the dismissed Sergeant Adamu was tried for shooting the late Olabomi to death and was found guilty of the offense, hence his dismissal.

The Police spokesperson said the file of the dismissed officer would be forwarded to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for necessary directive relating to his prosecution for murder.

She said the officer was tried in the democratic police tradition which enabled to defend himself.
