A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, OYHA, representing Ibarapa North/Central Constituency, Mr. Peter Ojedokun has called for the upgrading of infrastructures and adequate funding for the Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate.

In a motion titled, “Urgent need for Oyo State government to provide grant and commence upgrading facilities at Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate to enable full accreditation of its courses”, Mr. Ojedokun lamented the poor state of infrastructures in the institution.

Presenting the motion, Mr. Ojedokun said the college since its establishment has been lacking grants and basic infrastructure for learning. 

He also expressed displeasure that the School of Education Building and the Library Complex awarded by Former Governor Alao Akala since 2006 have been abandoned by the contractor. 

In the house resolution, speaker, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin who co-sponsored the motion directed the contractor to appear before the plenary to answer questions on what has become of the twenty million naira received from the state government for the completion of the project.

The house also directed the School to provide five years audit report of the college to ascertain the status of the institution. 

In another development, the Assembly set up a five member ad-hoc committee to investigate the alleged killing of a boy at Mokola, Ibadan by operatives of Amotekun Corps.
