Ijesa University project committee has renewed its pledge to provide financial backing for Osun State government in the quest to have the state college of education, Ilesa converted to a university of education, science and technology.

The chairman of the committee, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, at a news conference in Ilesa hinted that the committee during the presentation of the proposal seeking conversion of the 43-year old college to a University told the state governor that it was ready to support the cause with 500 million Naira.

Asiwaju Fasuyi  urged individuals,   members of societies, clubs and organizations to donate generously towards the epoch  making project.

The chairman of the fundraising committee, Chief Akinwande Akinola lauded the ijesas for contributing to the building of a benefiting, ultra modern palace for the paramount ruler and the ongoing geriatric center, second of it’s kind in the ancient town.

Contributing, the former minister of Health, professor Isaac Adewole canvassed support for the project, pleading with the people of Ijesaland to see the invitation as a clarion call.

A former member of Board of Directors, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Mrs Dupe Ajayi-Gbadebo explained that the college of education had all the required facilities suitable for the proposed ivory tower.

It would be recalled that the state governor, Mr.  Adegboyega Oyetola had promised to set up a committee to look into her request for the conversion of the college of education to a full-fledged University.
