The first term of the 2021/2022 Academic session, has commenced in public and private schools across Ogun state.

Radio Nigeria correspondents, who monitored the resumption in Abeokuta, Ota, Ilaro and Ijebu areas of the state, observed that despite the early morning rains, students and their parents trooped out to meet up with the resumption time.

During the visit to some schools, students were seen clearing and cleaning both the classrooms and premises that had been overtaken by thick dust and giant grasses, as the teachers monitored the exercise.

Speaking in separate interviews, some students in public schools appealed to the government to improve on the infrastructural development in the schools.

The students while pointing out that their schools lacked adequate furniture, toilet facilities among others, said the situation was hindering their learning.

On the preparedness for the new academic session, some students including Adeboye Sorungbe, Oluwaseyi Ogunwede and Oluwabukola Oyajimi expressed their determination to study hard in the new academic session.

While thanking God for a peaceful holiday and resumption to school, the students appreciated their parents for taking good care of them.
