An Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo has again remanded masquerade custodian, Chief Kayode Esuleke, his son, Ifasola Esuleke and two others over the alleged murder of a worshiper named Moshood Salawudeen in a mosque.

The defendants; Chief Kayode Esuleke, Kola Adeosun, Akeem Idowu and Ifasola Esuleke were arraigned on September 14th 2021 on thirteen counts of murder, attempted murder, malicious damage, assault, breach of public peace and engaging in a public fight.

The presiding judge, Justice Ayo Oyebiyi made the order after listening to the argument of the defence led by Mr Bola Ige and prosecution Mr Biodun Badiora on the formal bail application filed by the suspects.

He ordered that they (defendants) should be remanded in Ilesha Correctional Center and adjourned the matter to 21 September 2021 for consideration of bail.

Meanwhile, at the sitting Justice Oyebiyi said, counsel to the defendants did not argue the preliminary objection attached to the counter-affidavit by the prosecution counsel.

Mr Bola Ige admitted the issue raised by the judge as the prosecutor’s team applied to withdraw the preliminary objection attached with the counter-affidavit.

Justice Oyebiyi adjourned the matter to September 23rd 2021 for ruling on bail.
