Ogun State House of Assembly, OGHA Committee on Works and Infrastructure wants the operations of the State Public Works Agency to be strengthened to fast track massive road rehabilitations across the state.

The Chairman of the committee, Mr Abayomi Fasuwa, stated this during an interactive session with the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ade Adesanya, and the General Manager, State Public Works Agency, Mr. Gbenga Akintola at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Mr. Fasuwa urged the Ministry to improve on the supervision of all contractors handling the construction of road projects in all parts of the state to ensure delivery of quality work.

The Committee Chairman who decried the deplorable conditions of roads in the state, requested for palliatives on inner roads linking communities in towns across the state.

In their seperate remarks, Ogun State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ade Adesanya and General Manager, OGPWA, Mr. Gbenga Akintola attributed the slow pace of road projects to paucity of funds, and gave an assurance that contractors would commence operations immediately the rains subsided.
