World Animal Day : Animal Rights Advocates want Compliance With Ethics Of Hunting


President, Society for Animal Rights Protection, Dr. Ibikunle Faramade wants hunters to abide by the ethics of hunting.

Dr. Faramade made this known in Ibadan at a seminar to commemorate World Animal Day with the theme “Hunting Best Practices: Panacea to Wild Animals Species Sustainability. 

He noted that it was unfortunate that some animals had become endangered species due to the unethical practices of hunters.

Dr. Faramade said the stakeholders of Animal rights Protection would continue to come up with modalities to safeguard the lives of the endangered species. 

The chairman on the occassion, who is also the Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadan, Oloye Lekan Alabi enjoined people to always treat animals they are rearing as pets or for commercial purposes with care.

Speaking on behalf of hunters in Ibadan, the Balogun Olu Ode of Ibadan, Mr Asimiyu Ogundeji explained that the seminar had broaden their horizon on the types of animals to be hunted.

The seminar featured various Presentations on Traditional  hunting Ethics and laws regulating hunting and Game Reserves in Nigeria.
