Hundreds of youths have stormed the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan to stage a one-year #Endsars Remembrance protest in solidarity with those killed during the last year’s violent protests held in Lekki, Lagos state, Ojoo in Ibadan and other parts of the country.

The youths marched from Iwo-road, through to Idi-Ape, and to the seat of power at Agodi-Secretariat, Ibadan.

Addressing government officials at the main gate of the Oyo State Secretariat, one of the leaders of the peaceful protest, Ms. Kemi Adeshina, called for the immediate release of the nine remaining #EndSARS protesters who are still in custody.

An attempt by the Executive Assistant to the Oyo State governor on Security retired Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sunday Odukoya to address the protesters proved abortive as the protesting youths claimed they were not out for negotiations but for government to meet their demands.

Mr. Odukoya who later addressed journalists commended the effort of the security operatives for their perseverance for accompanying the protesters from Iwo Road to Secretariat to foil any attempt of hoodlums hijacking the peaceful protest.

It was exactly a year ago when the nation witnessed a protest tagged “#EndSARS” to end police brutality where innocent citizens and security operatives lost their lives.
