Ogun state police command has arrested seven suspected serial ritual killers in different parts of Abeokuta metropolis.

The suspects were apprehended after Abraham Okosun reported the missing case of his brother, Sunday Okosun at Agbara village via Mawuko Abeokuta to  Bode Olude divisional headquarters.

He policemen that his brother was later found brutally murdered by unknown persons and his remains had been dismembered. 

The Police Public Relations officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident in a statement in Abeokuta, said the seven suspects were picked from different locations in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Mr Oyeyemi explained that the arrest of Lekan Oladipupo from Sotan village following a tip-off led to the arrest of other suspects indulged in the dastardly act.

The command’s spokesman said Lekan Oladipupo confessed to the killing of the deceased with his dane gun and contacted Sulaiman Aremu, who butchered the corpse of the victim and remove vital parts to be distributed to their standby customers. 

Mr. Oyeyemi noted that others suspects, Ifayemi Madru,  Shittu Saheed, Samod Sulaiman, Akanji Moruf,  and Tajudeen Adekunle had confessed to the killing of not less than four persons in similar circumstances.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Lanre Bankole, who described the incident as the height of man inhumanity to man, ordered that the suspects be transferred to the homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department, for discreet investigation with the view to charging them to court as soon as possible.
