As the euphoria of the Christmas season continues to gather momentum, a nongovernmental organization, Emperor and Dorcas Owolabi Foundation, EDOF, has organized a Christmas party for orphans and vulnerable children at Living Word Mission Home, Ibadan.

The Christmas party which afforded the orphans the opportunity to feel the mood of the season, featured games, dance competition, cutting of the cake, health talk and gift presentation by Santa Claus.

In a message on the occasion, the President and founder of EDOF, Princess Arike Oluwafunmilayo said the gesture was to encourage the vulnerable children and to let them feel a sense of belonging during the festive season.

Princess Oluwafunmilayo charged the children to be of good character and always aspire for the best in whatever they do.

Also speaking, a guest on the occasion, Professor Folake Onayemi urged the children not to feel less of themselves, rather believe in God and their abilities that would make them great.

Earlier in an address, the coordinator of the foundation, Mrs Oluwapelumi Eluwole who said over eighty vulnerable children were catered for in the project, appreciated God for the privilege to put smiles on their faces.

Some of the benefiting children, who could not hide their joy, commended EDOF for the show of love at this year’s festive season.

The EDOF Christmas party for orphans, widows and the vulnerable is an annual event organised in memory of the late Emperor and Dorcas Owolabi.
