The level of sensitization on the “Not Too Young To Run” law should be geared up in order to witness an increased involvement of youths in subsequent elections in Nigeria.

This was the submission of the Oyo State chairman, Young Progressive Party, YPP, Mr Adeyemi Adedeji, while featuring on Political Space, an interview programme on Radio Nigeria Ibadan.

Mr Adedeji said although the law had slightly increased youths’ political participation, the level of sensitization on the not too young to run law was low.

Mr Adedeji believes that the political environment was too expensive for the youths, which he said had been one of the main hindrances to the active participation of youths in electoral processes.

The YPP State chairman maintained that the younger generation had a significant role in political processes and the goal of the party was to create enabling environment for them.

He said Nigerians should watch out for YPP as the party was adequately prepared for the 2023 general elections.
