Six people are presumed dead while 12 persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in a fatal crash that occurred around the Lala-Keke area on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

The Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun State Command, Mrs Florence Okpe confirmed the crash in a statement issued in Abeokuta.

Mrs Okpe who noted that a total of 38 persons were involved in the accident, said the crash involved Mitsubishi Canter marked XS595JJJ, two Mazda buses with registration numbers LSR266YD and LND01YE

She attributed the suspected causes of the multiple crashes to excessive speeding, dangerous driving and loss of control due to wrong turning on the part of the Mitsubishi Canter who was trying to negotiate a turning without observing the road while the Mazda bus lost control and crashed into it.

Mrs Okpe said injured victims were evacuated to the State Hospital, Abeokuta for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at State Hospital Morgue, Abeokuta.
