The 8th day  fidau held for late Olubadan of Ibadanland,  Oba Soliu Adetunji at Mapo hall, was an epicentre for high profile politicians, Christian and Islamic clerics as well as traditional rulers within and outside Ibadan,the Oyo State capital.

Infact it is often a famous saying that the good that men do lives after them.

Also, the common saying that sweet is the memory of the righteous aptly captured the social, economic and political relations the 41st Olubadan had with different classes of people that came his way while alive.

The Mapo hall populated by who is who in the political arena were easily identified by drummers who ensure he or she was accompanied to his seat through unhindered entertainment.

The fidau prayer led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik, Abdul Ganyil Agbotomokekere featured prayers for the family of the late monarch, religious and political leaders in Oyo state.

In a sermon taken from Quran 3:168, an Islamic preacher who is also a Professor of Islamic and Arabic studies, University of Ibadan, Kamil Oloso urged the muslim faithful to be closer to Almighty Allah in the new year and eschew evil.

Similarly,  a christian cleric, Apostle Iyiola Olasunkanmi of the Bible Based Church, Amuloko urged the participants to be wary of how they lived their life saying all and sundry would give an account of their sojourn on earth.

A popular gospel artiste, Evangelist Dr Bola Are said the late monarch epitomised unity and peace-giving due regards to every shade of individuals that came his way regardless of religion and ethnic background.

Evangelist Dr Bola Are said the marketing firm of the late olubadan sold thousands of her first  album in 1977.

The Onigboho of Igboholand, Oba John Bolarinwa said the reign of late Olubadan of Ibadanland witnessed peace and progress in Oyo state.

One of the daughters of the Late Olubadan, Kehinde Adetunji said her father was a caring man.

Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde represented by the commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy matters, Mr Bayo Lawal implored people in the state to embrace peace.
