The former Head of interim National government, Chief Ernest Shonekan passes on at the age of 85 in Lagos.

Chief Ernest Shonekan was Nigeria’s Head of interim National government between August 26, 1993 to November 17, 1993.
Chief Ernest Shonekan was appointed Head of interim Government by General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida through a military decree.

The Interim Government hatched by Babangida which Shonekan headed was as a result of the annulment of June 12 1993 election which forced General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida to voluntarily step aside as military President.

Late Head of state, General Sani Abacha appointed his predecessor Chief Ernest Shonekan as Head of Vision 2010.
