Super Eagles of Nigeria have crashed out of the ongoing Africa cup of Nations in Cameroon after losing 1 nil to Tunisia in the round of 16.

Super Eagles, who came into the knockout stages with three wins out of three in the group stages, went behind for the first time in the tournament in the 47th minute.

Things got worse for Nigeria, when Alex Iwobi was shown a straight red just minutes after replacing Kelechi Iheanacho.

Despite being a man down, Super Eagles pushed for an equaliser and almost got it through big striker, Sadiq Umar, whose shot went narrowly wide in the dying minutes.

Tunisia held on to the final whistle and would now play Burkina Faso in the quarter finals.

Burkina Faso had earlier beaten Gabon 7-6 on penalties after the game ended 1-1.
