The under-12 boys and girls handball competition organized by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, South West Zone, begins this Thursday in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
Chairman, Oyo State Sports Council, Chief Gbenga Adewusi made this known in a statement.
Chief Adewusi said the competition would begin with screening of players on Thursday at the Obafemi Awolowo, Stadium, Oke Ado, Ibadan, while the competition would be held at Ilaji Sports Resort, Akanran, Ibadan.
The statement notes that players disqualified at the screening must return to their various states immediately.
He pointed out that players under the age of 12 and have played for any state at the National Youth Games will not be allowed to participate in the handball championship.
Chief Adewusi added that winners would go home with trophies, while certificates of participation would be awarded to all players and officials.
