Ogun State house of Assembly has called for increased advocacy and sponsorship from elected officials and public office holders to enrol more residents of the state in the just-launched State Health Insurance Scheme.

Speaker of the House, Mr Olakunle Oluomo, who made the call while responding to the appeal of a member representing Yewa North 1 State Constituency, Mr Adegoke Adeyanju, who promised to enrol 112 members of his constituency in the scheme.

The Speaker encouraged other lawmakers and public-spirited individuals to support the less privileged to get enrolled into the health insurance scheme.

He stressed that the step would assist in increasing regulation of people through the payment of their premium to enable them to benefit from the health coverage programme.
