Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko has confirmed the death of some Policemen during a gun shot duel at Iwo Road ,Ibadan between the policemen and some suspected armed robbers who attacked a bullion van and carted away some cash.
Mrs Onadeko made this known when she visited the scene of the crime.
She said the two killed Police men were attached to the bullion van and they were stopped by some unknown gunmen who started shooting sporadically to scare people off and later killed the two officers.
The Commissioner explained that investigation had begun to unravel the circumstances surrounding robbery. She pointed out that the one of the suspected armed robbers was killed while others were at large.
Mrs Onadeko ,therefore, allayed the fears of people as efforts were ongoing to arrest the culprits.
She noted that the Command had restrategised on how to secure the state optimally to stem down criminality in the state.
