Oyo CP Orders Investigation into Shooting of Polytechnic Student
The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, CP Ngozi Onadeko, fdc has ordered full scale investigations into the events that led to the unfortunate shooting incident of Samuel Akinsuyi ‘m’ along Eruwa-Ibadan Road on Friday .
The Operatives involved have all been identified, apprehended and are currently undergoing debrief accompanied immediately with the commencement of their orderly room trials.
In furtherance to the above, the Commissioner of Police, therefore, appealed for calm and affirmed the assurance of a thorough and diligent investigation into demystifying the actions that led to incident with adequate sanctions meted out in accordance to relevant laws and statutes.
Samuel Akinsuyi, a Business Administration student of the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic in Eruwa, was shot by a yet-to-be identified policeman on Friday while coming from Eruwa to Ibadan.
The victim, according to sources, was beaten and then shot on the leg by a stop and search police officer.
It was gathered that the policeman ran away after he shot the victim.
This action has thrown Mr. Samuel Akinsuyi into a titanic battle against paralysis.
