Some members of the academic community have reacted to the death of  Nigeria’s first female Vice Chancellor and first Vice Chancellor of University of Benin, Professor Grace Allele William.

 Reacting to the news of her demise, The Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, University of Ibadan Chapter, Prof Ayo Akinwole said Professor Allele had contributed immensely to the academic community saying the vacuum left would be hard to fill.

Speaking in the same vein, Professor of Applied Communication, Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan, Ayo Ojebode said late Allele was an astute academic administrator saying her position would continue to challenge women in the academic community in attaining enviable status in the academia.

Until her demise on Friday 25th March, 2022 at the age 89, Professor Grace Allele William was a Professor of Mathematics Education and a former Senior lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University.
