Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari and the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai on the terrorists’ attack on passengers onboard the Kaduna-Abuja train, which left no fewer than eight persons dead and several others injured.

In a statement made available in Abeokuta by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kunle Somorin, Governor Abiodun described the attack on the passenger train as tragic and barbaric.

He said the incident was not only unfortunate, but disheartening, particularly when the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration was rebuilding railway infrastructure, which had been moribund over the years.

While expressing sadness over the deadly attack, Governor Abiodun urged all security agencies to intensify efforts towards ensuring that bandits have no breathing space in the country.

The governor commended his Kaduna State counterpart, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, for tackling banditry and all forms of insecurity in the state, urging him not to be discouraged by the latest attack.

He also condoled with the families of the victims of the attack and prayed for the departed souls to find repose.
