People with disabilities have been urged to use their voting power for the continuity of special treatments being enjoyed under the present administration in Oyo state.

The leaders of the group gave the charge during a one day voter education and sensitization forum programme organized by the special Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Persons with Special needs, Mr Timothy Sunday held at House of Chiefs, Secretariat,Ibadan.

Speaking at the programme, Mr Timothy Sunday, who organized the programme, noted that the present administration in the state has passion for people with disabilities which it had demonstrated in the terms of appointment and other programs for PLWD

Addressing the participants,the Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent Electoral Commission Mr Mutiu Agboke decried the inability of the people with  disabilities to fully participate in the electoral process during the 2019 general election.

Mr Agboke who was represented by INEC Head of unit Gender, Mrs Catherine Ogbu tasked them to get their Permanent Voters Card   to be able to elect candidates of their choice in the 2023 general elections.

In an interview, some of the participants while applauding the organizer, said they were more informed about electoral matters ahead of the 2023 general election
