Nigeria Police, Osun State Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged killing of one Ezekiel Ajewole by some illegal miners on his farm at Iberekodo Village, Ward Two, in Atakumosa West Local Government Area of the state.

Radio Nigeria gathered that those arrested are now being interrogated by the State Criminal Investigations Department to probe their involvement in the alleged killing.

According to findings, illegal miners encroached on his farm land and forced him out of the land all in the name of wanting to extract gold from it.

The elder brother of the deceased, Wole Ajewole was quoted by a top police officer, who preferred anonymity, to have said that Ezekiel farm was always being invaded by illegal miners working for persons.

The sources added that Wole Ajewole further hinted that his brother Taiwo Ajewole was shot dead by his assailants when he challenged them to stop the illegal mining activities on his farmland.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Osun State, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.

She added that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) had had commenced investigation into the matter.
