Children Day is remarkable in global calendar as it a time observed to celebrate children and draw attention to their well-being.
Though marked worldwide, the occasion is observed on different date across countries.
In Nigeria, the annual commemoration holds on May 27.
In the spirit of the season, Radio Nigeria Positive FM organized a befitting Children’s Day programme for kids in Akure the Ondo State capital.
The children, who were drawn from different schools, converged on Information Village Akure to mark the day.
It was quite a colourful event in an atmosphere filled with euphoria, with the kids attired in nice dresses jigging to melodious music.
Parents including the GM Positive FM Mrs Olubunmi Olalere were on ground at the venue to felicitate children.
Addressing the children, chairman of the occasion, Dr Tosin Adekungbe, who was all joy, advise them to study hard in order to excel.
In her good will message, Mother of the Day, Mrs Mercy Bakare harped on the need for children to imbibe morals and respect the elderly.
In a remark, General Manager, Positive FM, Mrs Olalere urged parents not to be weary in carrying out their responsibilities towards their wards, especially in these challenging times.
The children thanked Radio Nigeria for identifying with them.
