Two persons have died while another was injured when gas tanker ran into another stationary truck at Ogere along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, in a statement in Abeokuta explained that a truck had developed a mechanical fault while it was parked in front of the Trailer Park, and in an attempt to resolve the problem, the gas tanker coming from behind ran into it.
Mr Akinbiyi explained further that the driver of the ill-fated tanker with number plate T 12001 LA was speeding and could not control the vehicle, before it ran into truck.
He said a manager and motorboy on board the gas tanker died due to the impact of the accident, while the driver sustained injury.
The TRACE PPRO sympathised with the family of deceased and warned drivers of articulated vehicles to minimize their speed, in view of its attendant consequences.
