Former super eagles captain and midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi says the new set of footballers in the super eagles must be more disciplined to rule Africa again.

He stated this when he participated in a novelty match organized for a late grassroots football coach in Ondo state, Mr Chinedu Obi at the Ondo state sports complex Akure.

Ogenyi Onazi who formerly played for Lazio and currently playing for Al-Adalah FC in the Saudi Arabian league said the present staggering status of the eagles needed to be stabilized by the new Portuguese coach.

The former junior international however said coach pessiero should not be shy to extend invitations to few experienced former footballers to help in mentoring and inspiring the young players in the super eagles camp.

Another former international and facilitator of the novelty match Chukwuma Akabueze said aside the homecoming, the novelty match was to gather players trained by late coach Obi to honor him and inspire other local talents.

Some other players who were present at the novelty match included former super eagles player Sunday Mba, Geoffrey Oboabona,Tunde Adeniji,Sunday Abe, goalkeeper Bassey Akpan among others

At the end of the match a selected sides named Tunde Adeniji and friends defeated Chukwuma Akabueze and friends by 2-1 in a thrilling football encounter.
