Teenagers can carve a niche for themselves in any chosen profession if well guided.

 Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Oyo State chapter, stated this at a summer programme organised in conjunction with a non-governmental organization,

Mrs Ajibola explained that the programme would afford the participants to meet professionals who would mentor them in their career aspiration

“To help the students or teenagers carve a niche in the areas of chosen career, for instance, some feel I want to be an engineer but on the programme,  they have been given an opportunity to meet who is a notable Engineer, Journalist, Doctor Lawyer to mention some”.

 Besides seminars on careers, the programme featured health education.

 Education Officer, Oyo state Ministry of Health, Mrs Rasheedah Ajao said the ministry was at the programme to create awareness on malaria precautions, tuberculosis, COVID-19 and to vaccinate the teenagers

 Some of the participants who spoke with Radio Nigeria expressed delight at being enlightened on healthy living.

The  programme also featured a special game in Yoruba called Egbeje ede, which taught the students how to spell Yoruba words

The five-day programme ends on Friday.
