For any business to flourish, a businessman must set long, medium and short term goals and objectives for appreciable margins and sustainable operations.

Deputy Director Marketing, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr. Adewale Afinjuomo stated this while speaking at a customers forum organised by the station in Ilesa, Osun State.

In a lecture entitled, ”Transiting From Thriving To Surviving In A Challenged Economy”, Mr. Afinjuomo explained that the relationship and attitude of a businessman would determine the number of customers, the corporate image and his profit margin.

The Deputy director marketing, who advocated adequate patience of entrepreneurs over attainment of their goals, highlighted mismanagement, get-rich-syndrome and lackadaisical attitude as major challenges against business growth.

Mr Afinjuomo advised business owners to imbibe positive attitude and be resilient in their businesses for survival.

The general Manager, Gold FM, Mr. Adedamola Tinubu, who in a remark said the management was working on the sustainability of the station on air, also restated the determination of the station to meet the yearnings of its teeming listeners.

Some of the customers at the forum, including the Secretary, Ajido Community, Elder Isaac Falade and the Principal, Christ Model College, Ijebu-Jesa, Dr. Biodun Fatokun assured the station of more support, but appealed to the federal government to provide necessary tools for the station for better service to the people at the grassroots.

Responding to the customers’ requests , the Head of Marketing, Gold FM, Mrs OluKemi Oni said the station’s flexible commercial rates would be sustained, irrespective of the current global socio-economic challenges .

Soliciting the patronage and better cooperation of the people, Mrs Oni expressed the hope that the various challenges confronting the station would soon be resolved by the federal government.
