Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has indicated the readiness of the state to host the 22nd Edition of the National Sports Festival, NSF, in 2024.
Governor Abiodun made this known in Abeokuta, when he played host to the 22nd National Sport Festival Evaluation Committee.
While describing Ogun State as a peaceful location, Governor Abiodun urged the committee to give priority to the security, conducive atmosphere and well-being of the athletes above other considerations.
The governor expressed optimism that the sports sector would help the youths to imbibe discipline, leadership skills and shun social vices, pointing out that hosting of the festival was fundamental to the social economic development of the state.
Earlier, the leader of the 22nd National Sport Festival Evaluation Committee, Mr Peter Nelson had noted the need for the state to put necessary things in place to be able to win the bidding process, including the need to ensure that accommodation that would be close to match venues.
