The Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command has paraded a self-confessed murderess, Odunayo Olumale for stabbing her husband to death.

The suspect, Olumale was paraded by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO in Oyo State, Mr Adewale Osifeso alongside other suspected criminals who were arrested for various offences ranging from armed robbery, cultism, burglary, kidnapping and other criminal offences.

According to the Police Spokesman, one Ismaila Tijani reported at Durbar Divisional Police Headquarters that his son Olamilekan Salaudeen has been stabbed to death with a knife by his wife Odunayo.

Mr Osifeso said preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased and his wife returned to their house in the Oko-Oba area of Oyo Town after three months of separation, the deceased then made a move to have sexual intimacy with his wife but was rejected.

He said the rejections further led to a struggle where the deceased collected and smashed his wife’s phone on the ground and in retaliation, the deceased was stabbed in the chest, leading to his death.

Other paraded suspects who also confessed to the allegations levelled against them blamed their nefarious activities on the adverse economic situation of the country.

While parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters Eleyele Ibadan, the Oyo State PPRO, said the arrests were achieved through the efforts of gallant officers and intelligence gathering from members of the public.

He noted that the command had strategized a purposeful means of ending incessant cases of abductions and all forms of criminality to restore the confidence of the citizens in the society especially as the country navigates towards the “Ember” period.

He stated further that as the state and the entire country shifted gears towards the build-up to the 2023 general elections, the command’s security architecture had been deliberately modified to cater comprehensively to the security yearnings of residents.

“It is worthy of noting that, the week ahead would be characterized by loads of strategic meetings and the symbolic signing of the Peace Accord, a recognizance document binding political actors and their supporters into being of good conduct before, during and after the process.”

Meanwhile, the command called on the public to adhere strictly to the dictates of the 2022 Electoral Act and other relevant legal instruments and at the same time appealed against the destruction of billboards, defacing campaign posters and inciting violence through utterances and deeds.

“In furtherance of the above, parents and guardians are advised to prevail on their children and wards to avoid being used as instruments of anarchy as adequate sanctions would be meted out on whosoever endeavours to threaten the relative tranquillity enjoyed in the State.”

“In cases of emergency, the Command can always be reached through these emergency control room numbers: 615 (toll-free) (OYO STATE SECURITY TRUST FUND), and Oyo State Police Command emergency lines 07055495413 and 08081768614”

The police spokesman added that the suspects would soon be charged in court after proper investigations.

Exhibits found with the suspects included 7 locally-made guns, one kitchen knife, four live cartridges, 4 Bajaj motorcycles, 2 Mazda buses, one mobile phone, 1 Toyota car and some native charms.
