Radio Nigeria Ibadan has handed the mentally challenged woman, who delivered a baby boy to the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs.
The woman, who identified herself as Lara, whose age is between 25 and 30, delivered the baby boy at Odo Ona Apata Area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The delivery took place in an uncompleted building at Ayileka Street behind Bova Filling Station.
A report of the incident was made at Odo Ona Apata Police Station while the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare was also informed.
Mother and the child were later taken to Olúwaṣeun Maternity Hospital by Radio Nigeria.
The proprietress of the hospital, who gave the woman and her newborn medical attention, confirmed that the baby and the mother were alright.
Radio Nigeria correspondent who spoke with the lady, reports that the dark in complexion was not coherent in her speech.
The duo is in the custody of Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs for further attention and care.
