A row of shops located opposite Alliance Hotel in Oyo Town, near Dan Zaria Market has been razed by fire and those affected have started counting their losses.
The incident which occurred early Monday morning was reportedly prevented from spreading to nearby residential buildings by sympathizers who rushed to the scene from their sleep.
Though the traders were still struggling with the shock, those who identified themselves as Ahmed Kolawole, Mummy Zainab and Ngozi Isaac managed to call for government assistance.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire outbreak remains unknown.
