Oyo Govt Offers Free TB Treatment for Residents

Members of the public experiencing cough of more than two weeks have been advised to present themselves for free Tuberculosis, TB, screen and treatment at the primary health care centres in the thirty three local government areas of Oyo state.

Deputy Director, Public Health, Oyo state Primary health care board, Dr Johnson Babalola gave the advised during a free T.B screen and other health services at Agbaje Market, Agbeni Ibadan, in commemoration of this year’s world TB Day.

Dr Babalola said with the help of the Federal, state and international partners, the screening, testing and treatment of tuberculosis is free in Oyo state, appealing to residents to avail themselves the opportunity to assess their status.

The medical expert who said TB is curable explained that Oyo state has over six hundred facilities in all the local government areas where people can get the free test and anti TB drugs.

The medical services which was held simultaneously across the state provided free HIV/AIDS test, Blood pressure and COVID 19 vaccination.
